Do the 2.0 characters work on the 3.0 bases? Im looking for a marvel heros 3.0 version but can only find star wars? Starter pack

The original Disney Infinity base and the 2.0 version base can be used for 3.0 if you are playing on the same console platform. However, if you are looking to also upgrade console.

COMPATIBILITY DETAILS
With Disney Infinity 3.0, all of your previous Disney Infinity 1.0 and 2.0 Figures and Power Discs will be compatible and work in the Disney Infinity 3.0 Toy Box. Here are some specifics:

With Disney Infinity 3.0, all of your previous Disney Infinity 1.0 and 2.0 Figures and Power Discs will be compatible and work in the Disney Infinity 3.0 Toy Box. Here are some specifics:
DISNEY INFINITY FIGURES AND POWER DISCS
Disney Infinity Figures and Power Discs are forward compatible, meaning they all work in the Toy Box in Disney Infinity 3.0. However, Disney Infinity 3.0 Figures and Power Discs that are labeled 3.0 only work with the Disney Infinity 3.0 Video Game Software and not with the previous Disney Infinity (1.0 and 2.0) Video Game Software.
DISNEY INFINITY PLAY SETS
Disney Infinity 3.0 Play Sets only work in Disney Infinity 3.0 and require the Disney Infinity 3.0 Video Game Software to play them. All previous Disney Infinity 1.0 and 2.0 Play sets (Toy Story, The Lone Ranger, Pirates of the Caribbean, Monsters University, The Incredibles, Cars, Marvel's the Avengers, Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy and Marvel's Spider-Man) will not work with the Disney Infinity 3.0 Video Game Software. However, all Play set Pieces will unlock all associated Play set Toys for use within the Disney Infinity 3.0 Toy Box.
DISNEY INFINITY FIGURES IN REGARDS TO PLAY SETS
Only Disney Infinity Figures from their related Play set worlds can play in that Play set -- while all Disney Infinity Figures work in the Disney Infinity 3.0 Toy Box. Please reference the Characters section of the website to see which Play set each Figure works in. The Disney Infinity 3.0 Star Wars™ Figures are unlockable across all Star Wars Play sets!
DISNEY INFINITY TOY BOX
The Disney Infinity 3.0 Toy Box that comes with the Disney Infinity 3.0 Video Game Software is a bigger and better Toy Box with even more possibilities. Most Disney Infinity Toy Box Toys you previously unlocked in the Toy Box mode will be available for you to use in the Disney Infinity 3.0 Toy Box if you log in to your Disney Account in both versions of the game. All other Disney Infinity Toy Box Toys are unlocked by placing the appropriate Disney Infinity Figures or Play set pieces on the Disney Infinity Base as described in the compatibility mentioned here. Toy Boxes you created in the previous version of Disney Infinity will be available in Disney Infinity 3.0 when you log in with your Disney Account and download them to Disney Infinity 3.0.

The all-new Disney Infinity 3.0 Toy Box Expansion Game Pieces can only be used with the Disney Infinity 3.0 Video Game Software.
